Well, I’m definitely being oriented here. There is a lot of stuff going on. Of the major things you should probably know:
- I wanted to go to Rome next semester, but my advisor doesn’t think it smart.
- This campus is interesting enough that he didn’t actually break my heart by vetoing Rome.
- I’m going to meet Nicholas Rescher.
- I have no internet at my apartment, and the library is closed weekends (so far) so I’ll have to figure out alternate ways to post for you guys.
- Orientation isn’t as bad as I remember; there are a lot of cool people, and the grad students are indeed separate for a lot of the time.
- It’s a small, small world. Combermere, Comayagua, Waterloo – meeting any new person, you never know where the common experiences are, but they are there.
- Cafeteria food is better during orientation.
I will be back later to post something relevant.
