Poetry Conference

Poets aren’t generally famous. Recently, poetry itself is often neglected. People can quote a few lines of the classics, but many people seem completely untouched by poetry, even the poetry which intends to reach the disillusioned post-modern audience.

Canadian poets aren’t renowned, either, and aside from a few gems, Canadian poetry has been neglected even in our own country. Why is this? Where did we go wrong?

What should poets do? What should specifically Catholic poets do?

Join us this summer as several of the Alexandrian’s published poets get together and discuss the direction of Canadian poetry and the vocation of a Catholic poet. We’ll also be bringing some poems-in-progress to get each others’ opinions and suggestions!

If you or someone you know is interested, please contact us.

Place, date and time will be arranged in order to best accommodate interested poets, so speak up quickly! Updates will be available, on this page, when we have more information.
