Nicholas Rottman
Nicholas Edward Comgal Rottman, 24 years old, is a graduate of Ave Maria College. Yep, that’s “college,” i.e. the one that was in Ypsilanti, Michigan. He graduated with his B.A. there, majoring Literature and minoring in Philosophy, and is currently working towards a Masters of Divinity, and Bachelors of Sacred Theology. He is currently in his second year of Theology at the Pontifical College Josephinum seminary for the diocese of Covington, Kentucky. He will be ordained to the diaconate in 2010 and to the priesthood in 2011, God willing.
Since the Bible is beyond the category of literature, his favourite works are Dante’s Divine Comedy, J.R.R. Tolkien’s Silmarillion, and C.S. Lewis’ The Space Trilogy and The Chronicles of Narnia. He is also partial to the poetry of Robert Frost, and likes Robert Service’s “The Cremation of Sam McGee.” His preferred philosophers are Plato, Pseudo-Dionysius the Areopagite, St. Thomas Aquinas and Pope John Paul II. His favourite study is Typology, the study of Christian symbolism. He also enjoys watching Japanese anime and reading manga, the best of which is Rurouni Kenshin.
